The Gilles Berthoud saddles combine timeless logic and aesthetics with modern materials and manufacturing processes.

The leather, vegetable tanned, are carefully selected for their thickness, strength and visual quality. The leather, exclusively from the croupon, is bought "natural" and the dyeing - and not painting - is done by us, to keep the most control over the process and the quality of the finished product. The cutting, drilling and lapping of the leathers are performed on machines designed at home and requiring years of development. From design to manufacturing, everything is designed to maintain the integrity of the leather and ensure the durability of the saddle. Hence the brass cup system designed to reduce the stress on leather and increase its life. The stainless steel or titanium spring steel rails, combined with the synthetic materials used for the nose and crescent, make the Berthoud saddle both strong and comfortable.
